June is the month in which Father's Day falls and despite of the in your face commercialism of the day it still make for a nice surprise to buy your old man something. It doesn't have to be expensive but as always, how do you find something that won't break the bank, will be of good quality and will also be really appreciated? Well there's a few ideas below that fit the bill and if you're still struggling for ideas then your prayers may be answered with the ideas below.
Think about what men like. They like a present to be practical, something they can put to good use so throw your mind out to BBQ accessories because not only are they relatively inexpensive they're also extremely practical because barbecue gift ideas can be used on the day of giving. Sometimes it's difficult to find a present for the man of the house (and my stereotypical man is in fact the chef when it comes to the barbecue) and barbecue accessories are not only low cost but there's a wide variety of items to go at.
A good one to go for is a set of BBQ branding irons so that Dad can have some fun when cooking steaks. Some branding irons consist simply of a triangular iron with a letter on each side (R = rare, M = medium & W = well done) but that doesn't guarantee that he can cook them correctly so it make be better to get one that customised - maybe personalised with his initials. Please do remember that branding irons by nature are dangerous because of the high temperature that they heat up to so they can quite easily brand your skin as well as a steak!
If it's novelty that you're looking for then maybe novelty barbecue aprons would be a good choice? There's a vast selection ranging from stars and stripes through humorous images right to some which are best described as "adult". Go careful, you don't want to offend.
A good practical Father's Day BBQ gift is a Barbecue Thermometer. It's a gadget so it's bound to go down well with dad and you never know, it may even help ensure that the food is cooked to perfection so you may have a vested interest in acquiring one depending on the culinary skills of your Pa. To cap it all, you can also get wireless ones so there's no excuse for him not to help with the preparations and clear up after a great Father's Day Barbecue!
If safety and convenience are your thing then another great idea is an electric charcoal lighter. Just build up your charcoal, insert the lighter and leave it for 10 minutes and low and behold you've got the perfect fire. Just give the charcoal another 30 minutes or so to settle and you'll be ready to cook.
Of course, if you've already got a Dad whose a complete barbecue nutcase then you don't have to be too imaginative, you can always go for a BBQ tool kit a new set of skewers and if the worst comes to the worst I'm sure that he'll even appreciate that supremely practical gift - a big bag of BBQ charcoal.
There's lots more to go at but I hope that you can see how simple, cost effective and practical an Father's Day Barbecue gift may be especially if it means that Dad does the cooking!
