George Forman Removable Grill

George Forman removable grill plates have been included in the line for several years. Today, you can get a variety of shapes and sizes. Here is a look at what is currently available and the place to purchase is listed below.

The original clam-shell design is still being sold, although the design has changed somewhat since it was introduced in 1994. It is the latest of the burger makers with something of a clam-shell design.

The features of the the grill include a digital timer and temperature display, 2 removable grilling plates, a deep-dish pizza baking pan and an insert for making mini-burgers. Increasing the items that can be cooked on the grills has been a company goal since at least 2007.

The products introduced since that time include the 360 round grills with large cooking surfaces and cooking plates that can be removed for easy cleaning.

The George Forman removable grill plates were introduced, because of customer complaints about difficulty with cleaning. Trying to wash the cooking surfaces in the original grills was difficult, because they could not be removed. Not all of the new products include plates that can be removed, but most of them do.

Like the George Forman removable grill plates, the cooking pan of the Multi-cooker can be removed from the heating tray. Not only does this allow for easier cleanup. It makes serving easier, too.

The ability to bake items like muffins or cupcakes is one of the new features. Several of the latest appliances include that ability. The Grill-Bake-Muffin appliance is one example.

All George Forman removable grill plates and inserts come with the special nonstick coating that helped to make the appliances famous. The coating is trademarked as "George Tough".

Most of us have experienced the frustration of watching a non-stick coating peel off. Consumer safety advocates warn that cookware with damaged coatings should not be used. The compounds used to make them are mildly toxic and can get in the food. The George Tough coatings do not crack or peel.

The original grills were all slanted in order to allow grease to drip off of burgers. The newer ones have an adjustable tilt. So you can still cook meats at an angle to reduce the fat, but you can also cook waffles, eggs and other items on the flat surface.

The George Forman removable grill plates continue to improve as the years go by. If you have yet to become a customer, now might be the time.
