George Forman Removable Grill

George Forman removable grill plates have been included in the line for several years. Today, you can get a variety of shapes and sizes. Here is a look at what is currently available and the place to purchase is listed below.

The original clam-shell design is still being sold, although the design has changed somewhat since it was introduced in 1994. It is the latest of the burger makers with something of a clam-shell design.

The features of the the grill include a digital timer and temperature display, 2 removable grilling plates, a deep-dish pizza baking pan and an insert for making mini-burgers. Increasing the items that can be cooked on the grills has been a company goal since at least 2007.

The products introduced since that time include the 360 round grills with large cooking surfaces and cooking plates that can be removed for easy cleaning.

The George Forman removable grill plates were introduced, because of customer complaints about difficulty with cleaning. Trying to wash the cooking surfaces in the original grills was difficult, because they could not be removed. Not all of the new products include plates that can be removed, but most of them do.

Like the George Forman removable grill plates, the cooking pan of the Multi-cooker can be removed from the heating tray. Not only does this allow for easier cleanup. It makes serving easier, too.

The ability to bake items like muffins or cupcakes is one of the new features. Several of the latest appliances include that ability. The Grill-Bake-Muffin appliance is one example.

All George Forman removable grill plates and inserts come with the special nonstick coating that helped to make the appliances famous. The coating is trademarked as "George Tough".

Most of us have experienced the frustration of watching a non-stick coating peel off. Consumer safety advocates warn that cookware with damaged coatings should not be used. The compounds used to make them are mildly toxic and can get in the food. The George Tough coatings do not crack or peel.

The original grills were all slanted in order to allow grease to drip off of burgers. The newer ones have an adjustable tilt. So you can still cook meats at an angle to reduce the fat, but you can also cook waffles, eggs and other items on the flat surface.

The George Forman removable grill plates continue to improve as the years go by. If you have yet to become a customer, now might be the time.

For Sale 07 Vette

For sale is my 2007 Chevy Corvette Coupe. It is in very new condition, has just over 20k miles as of this writing, and has many upgrades and accessories that I've installed. The car is perfect, garage-kept, has no issues and has never given me any problems what so ever. In case you don't know, it has a 6-liter V8 that makes 400hp but still gets 28mpg on the highway. Though it's a coupe, the roof can come off and stow away in the rear for when the weather is nice. It's had all the scheduled maintenance, mileage is low as it's been mostly a weekend car to go out to dinner and stuff, never been raced. I've had my fun and now it's just time to move on and let someone else enjoy. Here are some of the upgrades I've done. First thing you'll notice is the slightly lowered stance and 20" wheels, a pretty recent mod. I've got aftermarket mufflers that sound better than stock. There are no rock chips anywhere as I installed a 3M protective covering on the front of the car, you don't even know its there. There is a little spoiler lip on the back. There is grill mesh in the side vents, special door thresholds, custom floor mats, an illuminated Corvette name plate between the exhaust pipes, red brake calipers and engine cover. Inside, the headrests have the Corvette logo embroidered in full color. Plenty of tasteful upgrades make this a lot nicer than stock. I'm asking for $34750 and will consider any serious offer. If you're looking to buy a Corvette give me a call. The car is ...

Smoking Turkeys - Slow Cook Turkey With Smoke On Any Grill

If you're tired of the ho-hum boring roasted turkey you make in your oven every year, you should consider smoking turkeys in your back yard. A properly smoked slow cook turkey will result in a succulent, juicy bird that your friends and family will remember for years.

No need to go out and buy a high dollar smoker, any grill will do and below are tips for using different kinds. We will mainly be discussing the use of a charcoal grill like a Weber. If you are using a gas grill, be sure you have plenty of fuel. You don't want your turkey cooling down while you run to fill the bottle.

Prepare - I recommend smoking turkeys that are 14 lbs. or less because to slow cook turkey that is larger may provide internal temperatures that are prime for bacteria growth. however, you can cook bigger birds. The only real limitation is the size of your grill/smoker. As long as the cover doesn't touch the turkey, you're OK but would recommend and inch or so of clearance.

Cooking fresh turkey is preferable over frozen since they are injected with solutions to keep moist during cooking. A fresh turkey will naturally stay moist.

Remove the giblets and neck from inside the cavity of the bird, also remove any excess fat to prevent flair-ups. Next, separate the skin from the breast if you are going to use a brine solution or season the breast with a rub. Rinse the turkey inside and out.

Brine - Many smoking enthusiast recommend soaking your turkey in brine. Although it's not necessary, the brine recipe used will create unique flavors and ensure a wonderfully smoked turkey. Smoking turkeys soaked in brine will be discussed in another article due to the amount of information. You can also get great brine recipes by clicking the link below.

Rub - A rub will add wonderful flavors when you slow cook turkey. If you decide to use a rub, you'll want to rinse the turkey well, inside and out, with cold water and then dry. Be sure to use a kitchen towel instead of paper towels as paper towels will leave a residue.

A rub is not necessary but the seasonings will enhance the flavor and produce a more memorable meal. A dry rub mixed with some cooking oil will produce a moister turkey. Cover the entire turkey ensuring you get the rub under the breast skin and coat the breast meat. I like to have all this done the night before smoking so that the seasonings have some time to be absorbed into the meat.

Once your bird is ready, place it in the refrigerator overnight to let your spices work their magic.

No Rub - If you're not using a rub, then coat the outside of the turkey with 1-2 tbs. of unsalted butter and then salt and pepper. This will help the skin to crisp and will seal in the juices.

Preparing the Grill/Smoker - For best results, place a pan with an inch of water on the coal/fire grate directly under your turkey. If you're cooking on a gas grill you won't have this grate, so place a wire rack inside a disposable roasting pan. This will keep your bird out of the water and prevent any flair-ups. As your bird cooks, a moist heat is created and the pan will catch any dripping. Using a regular grill, the charcoal will be placed around this drip pan and will provide indirect heat to slow cook turkey.

Cooking Temperature - The cooking temperature we're looking for is 225 - 250 degrees F. If using a grill without a thermometer, be sure to place an oven thermometer near the turkey to help you maintain the desired temperature. Insert a meat thermometer into the breast or thigh so that it is in the thickest part and not touching bone.

Smoking - Oak, apple, cherry and/or hickory are recommended woods to use. I don't recommend mesquite for poultry since it produces an overwhelming flavor. If you decide you want to use it, use it sparingly. Soak a couple of handfuls of wood chips in water for about 20 minutes. With a gas grill, place the chips in a smoker tray or make one by wrapping the chips in aluminum foil and poking a few holes in the top. The tray or foil packet can then be placed in the grill or coals to provide the smoke. Do this three or four times during the cooking process.

Cooking Time - You will need to cook 30-40 minutes per pound if you maintain a temp of 225-250 degrees. If you find that you're having trouble maintaining the temp and your grill is running at a higher temperature, just cook till done and then place in the oven at 185 degrees till serving time. This is why using a meat thermometer is important. Rotate the bird periodically for even cooking and cover the breast with foil once the breast reaches 150 degrees.

Serving - Your bird is done when the thigh reaches 170 degrees or the breast reaches 160 degrees. Remove it from the grill 15-20 minutes prior to serving and let it rest on the cutting board, breast side down, at least 15 minutes before carving. This will allow the juices to redistribute and be retained in the meat instead of spilling out onto the cutting board. Covering with foil will keep it from cooling too fast. Carve and enjoy!

Recipes - There are tons of recipes and techniques for smoking turkeys. I would use proven recipes that win awards if I was cooking a holiday dinner or for friends and family.

1933 Ford Standard Sedan STK 0018-ATL.mpg

This is a great little ALL FORD street rod that was built right because all the work was done professionally. Some of these street rods on the market today are "back yard" jobs that were not well planned and the end result is often an underachieving car that is an ongoing project its entire life. Not this car! The body is of course all steel and looks just how Ford built it back in '33. The paint is in good condition with a lot shine and the chrome looks excellent throughout the car including the wire wheels, headlights, grill, and all emblems. Even the underside of this car was painted--the frame and drive train were painted yellow while the underside of the cab was painted body color. For a car in this price range this car has a lot of detail and is very clean from top to bottom. Under hood, it's really nice to see the Ford 302 V8 backed by a C4 transmission and a Ford 8 Inch Rear to keep this '33 all Henry powered just like it should be. For many years the Chevy into the Ford swap was over done so we like cars that keep the same manufacturers drive train in place, especially because they tend to re-sell better in what has become a very competitive street rod market. The 302 in this car is fairly mild and is set-up for highway cruising and decent fuel mileage. With the updated drive train and the AC this car is very drivable and will seat four adults in comfort, the large back seat is especially roomy. The four suicide doors on this beautiful sedan open and close with a ...

The 5 Ultimate Muscle Cars for 2010-2011!

Ok, so you've outgrown or worn-out the heap you've been hanging on to for the past 5+ years... or just turned in your lease and are thinking about a change of pace. You thought about a fuel conservative vehicle, or even a hybrid but just couldn't find one that looked the way you want, you know...cool! It is unfortunate that the hottest looking rides are a little costly when it comes to gas, and maybe you think it's worth it. Yeah, yeah, sure- people will look down on you for not saving the environment, but heck, you work hard and deserve to have a little fun! Besides, there's plenty of other ecofriendly's out there to cover that burden for you, right? Well then now that you've passed the justification stage and bypassed the guilt, you're ready to narrow down the search, so let's take a look at what I consider the top 5 "muscle" cars on the market in the same price range. That range is between $30K- $100K. So buckle up butter cup... and prepare to put the petal to the metal!

First of all, let's establish the parameters, defining "muscle" car. First and foremost, we are obviously talking about power. Expect V6 or V8 or better. Second, STYLE, and when I say style, I don't mean stylish, I mean a real BEAST. Take Mercedes and BMW out of the equation, we're talking about something you could travel back in time to 1959 and impress the greasers with. Therefore, in no particular order, I present to you the following:

Porshe 911
Chevy CAMARO
Ford MUSTANG
Dodge CHARGER
Chevrolet CORVETTE

Let's start with the Porshe 911. Now this one is high on price and we're going to talk about the 2nd to best trim that is offered because we want to keep this list under 100K. Now technically this one is priced at 104K but that's the suggested price and you can no doubt get it under 100 G's so it just makes our cut. Now if you want to sacrifice some power, you can go down to the entry level or Carrera Coupe which is not too shabby at 3.6L and 345HP, but this bad boy (Targa 4S Coupe) is going to give you 3.8L and 385HP. You may not be able to experience the difference in speed legally, but you'll hear and feel it under the hood- but that's going to cost you about 15 grand more. You're going to get the same estimated gas mileage, 18 mpg City / 25 mpg Hwy, and a few more bells and whistles inside as well. A car like this is made to impress so if you have the cash for this kind of ride, another 15K for additional bragging rights may be worth it- and of course you're going to get more for it when you decide to sell. This car is a classic but it is a small car with big punch.

Now we'll move on to something on the other end of the spectrum. Take the 2010 (or 2011) Chevy Camaro for instance. This baby's got the look! You'll recognize her from Transformers and is not available for lease. This car looks so awesome that you won't even care about it's performance, but don't worry, it PERFORMS! The best part is compared to others, you're not going to pay for it out the nose. When you sit inside this thing, you are waiting for the flag to go down and hit the gas! The 2010 Camaro will NOT disappoint. You can buy 3 different trims and the average is going to run you around 30K; considerably lower than the Porsche! But to be fair, this is not comparing apples to apples! Let's talk specs. V6, 3.6L, 17 mpg City / 29 mpg Hwy. I took this car for a test drive a few weeks ago and must say it handled curves like butta'. When it came to power... effortless. When it came to performance... smooth as a silky breeze. Color choices are interesting but will be special ordered, as most dealers have only red and yellow in stock- they have a really wicked green that is worth checking out. Remember like most cars in this class, 2 doors, and no backseat drivers! (Because there is no backseat!)

Ok, what about the Ford Mustang? Well, we all know the Camaro was originally introduced as Chevy's answer to the Mustang, but Mustang prevailed. Until now, with the release in 2010 of the Camaro, the looks, performance and price give the Mustang a run for it's money, literally. However, Mustang is holding up for two reasons: reputation- a longer uninterrupted line of production, ability to be leased, and the new Camaro hasn't been in the public eye long enough to build up a sales base, which is why it cannot be leased yet- they don't know how many they need to make yet due to wavering demand. But we're supposed to be talking about the Mustang 2011 here so let's get down to brass tacks. First off, it's going to cost you about the same or less than the Camaro based on the options you select. Trims are comparable but there are more trim options overall, V6, 3.7L and both are rear wheel drive. 19 mpg City / 29 for the base model. You can lay down anywhere between 22K and 55K for this car which despite the competition, is still a beast! It even comes with overdrive too, which is always fun. The higher you go on the trim, it does start to outweigh the Camaro, but the GT is the equivalent to the Camaro, the GT500 is the upscale version. Of course with the Mustang you have the option to go convertible, something the Camaro does not offer, and that is an important point to consider.

Then we have the Dodge (Chrysler) Charger, the more affordable response to the above. Hey, there must be a reason Police forces across the nation are adopting this vehicle as the one of choice. They need speed, performance and power- but they also get a little style to boot. Sure this car is no Camaro- (can you tell I like that one?) But it does look as cool as the Mustang. You get yourself a nice body style and mean looking chrome cross-grill. Cops need to intimidate to make easier compliance from unlawful civilians and this one helps do the job. Well what about us civilians? Well, we get ourselves a kickin' bad boy at a decent price. Now, understand the police no doubt load these things up with options you and I don't need (hopefully), bullet proof glass, extra tough tires, etc., but let's see what we will get. V6 overdrive, 2.7L, 178HP on the base model with 18 mpg City / 26 mpg Hwy. That's going to run you about 24K, But bump it up a notch to one of the many other trims available such as: SRT8 and you're getting 4 door (by the way not 2 door as with the others), and yes, a backseat too! You'll pay almost 40K for this one, but you upgrade to these stats: V8 HEMI with overdrive, 6.1L 420HP, but only 13 mpg City / 19 mpg Hwy, as you would expect- come on Joe Dirt... it's a HEMI! This is a fine ride and a tough call if you can't decide between the previous listed but hopefully this helps get you there.

Last, but not least, we take the price tag back up the ladder to the infamous Chevrolet Corvette You can get a convertible on this too, if that's your thing, but we're going to keep it simple and try to keep it on a similar playing field to the rest mentioned here. Let's talk about the Z06, it's 70K - or you can go crazy with the ZR1 which is consistent with the 911. For that you'll get yourself an incredible, ridiculous, over 600HP vehicle. V8, Supercharged, 6.2 Liter and 14 mpg City / 20 mpg Hwy. But if you "keep it real" with Z06, you lose about 100HP, and save about 30K. Heck for that savings you may as well get yourself this AND one of the others: Camaro, Mustang, or Charger!!! Now the Corvette has a look like no other, and is the only other one mentioned here besides the Camaro that will make you feel like your in the race. The Porsche actually WILL make you feel like racing, but just doesn't look as mean as the Corvette! There have been many versions of this classic over time but the new one has all the appeal of the original, while also sporting a modern appeal. If you are between the Porsche and the Corvette, and can't decide- you need to ask yourself if you want to look more classy and sophisticated (Porsche) or cool like Fonzie (Corvette). Me, I wish I could take one of each, but what can I say? I'm waiting for the muscle cars to go hybrid or electric!!!!

Cheese Serving Guide

Cheeses come in a wide variety of flavors, textures, and types. Gone are the days of un-wrapping a slice of American cheese placing it on white bread and calling it a meal. Today's specialty markets make it easy to serve gourmet cheeses as an appetizer, desert, or as a simple course in a larger meal.

When serving cheese never serve more than 5 varieties at a time. Vary the size, shape, flavor and texture of the choices to add interest to the selection. The tray you serve on should be a wooden board or marble slab. A silver tray with a wood insert can add elegance and glamour for a special touch. The tray should never be crowded, and any bread or fancy crackers should be served separately. Separate utensils and trays should be used if the cheeses have strong or distinctive flavors. Mild varieties will pick up the flavors and aromas of stronger cheese.

Coupling the cheese with fresh fruit or thin sliced onions gives added interest and texture and makes for an appetizing arrangement. Always remember to slice all the accompaniments in bite size pieces.

Cheeses can be served as a very elegant desert a light course after the entrée or as an appetizer. When using cheese as an appetizer, choose a light meal because cheese can be filling.

The temperature of your cheese will make a difference in how it taste. When served at room temperature cheese displays more of its natural flavors and characteristics. By leaving the cheese out for 30 minutes before serving the cheese will reach its optimum temperature. Just remember during warm months to keep watch so that the cheese does not get too warm and begin to sweat.

Making the Controversial Case For the Full-Size SUV

GM and Chrysler marked the end of an era this week, scrapping plans for 2010 versions of their biggest SUV's and shutting down the factories that produce them. Yes, the full size SUV is now a pariah but for some (like me), the beefy behemoths still serve a purpose.

Vehicles are emotional purchases
On Memorial Day 2006, my wife and I leased a new Jeep Commander. The contract on our 2002 Acura MDX was up and the Hummer-esque Jeep was its replacement. The MDX had served us well and was stylish and capable but I wanted something more rugged and manly. The Big Jeep was a limited model, loaded with a chrome grill, perforated leather seats, an insane Boston Acoustics sound system and parking sensors. We skipped the navigation system, thirsty Hemi V8 and regrettably, the DVD player.

Mid-Size SUV, full-size fuel economy
Two months into the lease, it was clear the Commander was a poor choice. It was gorgeous, but the Big Jeep was wrought with shortcomings. Like many SUV's, its' third row was like a medieval torture chamber and when deployed, left room for little more than a pair of sneakers behind it. Its' second row was only slightly better, turning routine family trips into cramped, uncomfortable odysseys. The mid-size Commander didn't just look like a Hummer - it wallowed in full-size fuel economy numbers of close to 13 mpg. Finally, the Big Jeep suffered from a disconcerting stalling problem that despite an official NHTSA investigation and thousands of complaints, had yet to prompt a recall.

A second chance
After learning of our rights under the Motor Vehicle Warranty Enforcement Act, we sold the Commander back to Chrysler, pocketing a substantial refund. Its' replacement? A 2004 Ford Expedition, Eddie Bauer edition. Why would we replace our gas-guzzling Commander with one of the largest SUV's on the road? It's no Prius but surprisingly, the real-world fuel economy of the Expedition was significantly better than the Commander's and from a space perspective, we all had room to breathe again. Moreover, sliding SUV prices made the mint condition, low mileage Expedition a relative bargain compared to other vehicles we were considering.

Why a big SUV works for us
For us, the Expedition is an excellent vehicle. We can comfortably haul our two young children and frequent family visitors, including my parents whom we regularly visit 180 miles away in Philly. We also do lots of work on our home and the Expedition provides ample cargo space for furniture, two-by-fours and almost anything else you care to toss in it. More importantly, my wife and I each work less than 5 miles away, can telecommute, and are within walking distance of most local retailers. Our hybrid-driving colleagues beyond the beltway travel 60+ miles per day round trip. We sometimes don't travel 60 miles a week.

We love our guzzler and despite high fuel prices, don't regret its purchase. But like other recent SUV buyers, we better be prepared to hang onto it for more than a few years. Just as some homeowners are finding themselves "upside down", owners of recently purchased SUV's are in the same boat. Since January large SUV sales have plummeted, along with their market values. In May of this year, values of big SUVs were down 17% from 2007 and continue to slide, even amidst recently retreating fuel prices. We'll probably look to replace our Expedition in a few years and perhaps we'll consider something smaller.

But then again, an Expedition might be able to be had for a few thousand bucks by then.

Step by Step Guide to Carve a Turkey

NYC Cooking Classes offers a wide range of cooking lessons. This includes baking, cutting, tips for cooking, special occasion cooking, and lessons on preparing Asian, European, and American food. The classes are much more than just cooking classes - - they also focus on imparting the knowledge to their students about the food etiquette and ways of working in the kitchen to assure effective and easy kitchen management. In this article I am including a lesson from NYC; it is based on carving the turkey. Let's begin!

It is not as hard as it seems to slice a turkey; just follow the simple steps beneath:

Tip: Remove turkey from oven, cover with foil, and let stand at least 15 minutes so juices can set; slices will be firmer.

1) Grasp drumstick. Place long carving knife between thigh and body of turkey and cut through skin to joint. Press entire leg outward and use pointed end of knife to disjoint it. Separate thigh from drumstick and transfer to platter.

2) Insert fork in opposite wing to steady bird. Holding knife parallel to cutting board, with front end of bird toward you, make a single long cut just above wing joint through to body frame.

3) Positioning knife tip at front of bird (wishbone end), cut straight down along side of breastbone to release breast half from body.

4) Place breast, skin side up, on cutting board and slice meat diagonally across breast into inch thick slices.

Cooking lessons are available at on site and even long distance schools.

Car Body Kits

Car body kits are customized spare parts of a car's exterior that enhance both its looks and its functioning. They are usually purchased and installed by car enthusiasts. With the right kit, anyone can give it the sleek and sophisticated look of a sports car. Auto's kits allow the flexibility to change almost all aspects of a motor's exterior. Car enthusiasts also have the option of buying car body kits as separate parts or as a whole package to give their beauty a whole new look. Racers usually employ body kits to modify an average family car and turn it into any racer's dream machine.

Although slight enhancements improve both the looks and performance of the car incrementally, it is when you make over your vehicle that you get the biggest bang for your buck. Most car repair workshops and car showrooms offer body kits, often aligned with factory specifications for a perfect fit to your auto. Car enthusiasts also have the option of choosing the graphics to turn it into their dreams. Several (themed) kits are also available in the market. Contrary to popular belief, such kits are not meant only for car racers and do not have to make a bold statement. They are simply an instrument to improve your car's look and functionality.

The classic mistake most car owners make in customizing their vehicle with a car body's kit is to concentrate on improving only the looks and completely overlooking or paying cursory attention to what it can do to improve its functionality. Choose wisely if you are planning to buy a body's kits kit because a wrong choice can ruin your vehicle; negatively impacting the way it looks and its fuel efficiency, increasing pressure on its engine and crippling its aerodynamics.

Some of the parts that can be modified with a kit are; front hood and grill, bumpers, spoilers and roofs. Bumpers help improve the down force of the car especially when being driven at very high speeds. However, as with all modifications offered by a body kit, it should be installed very carefully by an expert mechanic or the car will be exposed to the risk of (possibly a) fatal accident. Low bumpers give the car a sport look. When installed along with side skirts, front and rare bumpers help boast aerodynamics of motorcar. Grills and hoods assist in enhancing the air flow to the engine and prevents it from being overheated. Fake grills add the x factor to your car and are an effective method of improving the way your car looks in the designer and label conscious world of today.

How to Make a Healthy Homemade Pizza

Everyone is worried about their health these days and with good reason. Rates of diabetes, heart disease, and obesity are climbing sky high. We have to worry about the food we buy because much of it is filled with corn syrup and empty of nutrition. In response to this, many people are turning to cooking with more whole foods and making their own recipes from scratch. The results are healthy, delicious recipes packed full of nutrition that we all need.

This delicious pizza makes the most of the fresh tomatoes from your garden or the farmer's market. Choose the delicious heirloom varieties of tomatoes for the best flavor, like Brandywine, Pineapple, and Cherokee Purple or even Green Zebra if you like a little lemony zing. The finished pizza is delicious with the smoky flavor of the grill. It is also very healthy, giving you protein, fiber, and potassium. Serve this delicious treat anytime you have extra tomatoes to use up and feel like grilling. Even the kids will love its flavor and color. Serve with a garden fresh green salad full of goodness.

Recipe for Garden Tomato Pizza on the Grill

What You Need

1 pound of pizza dough
4 Tablespoons black olive spread or tapas
2 pounds vine ripened tomatoes, thinly sliced
Salt
Black pepper
1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, grated
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, choppedHow to Make It

Prepare your dough according to your recipe.

Prepare the fire in your grill. For a charcoal grill, start with a medium-hot fire in only half of your grill. You can place 2 bricks in the middle as a divider. If you have a gas grill, preheat one burner on high but do not light the other one. For a single burner gas grill, preheat on high and lower the heat before cooking your pizza.

Roll out your dough on a floured surface to the size you want. Bring the dough, toppings, and tongs outside and set up near the grill.

Put two circles of pizza dough on the hot side of the grill. After only a minute, the dough will begin to puff up slightly and the bottom will become firm. Use the tongs to flip the dough over onto the cooler side of the grill.

Spread the tapas on top of the crusts after turning, and then cover the surface of each pizza with overlapping tomato slices, alternating red, and yellow to make a colorful design. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle mozzarella over the top. Close the top of the grill and let the pizzas cook, rotating as needed until the pizzas are cooked, should take about 5 minutes.

Remove the pizzas from the grill. Repeat the cooking steps if you have more pizzas to make. Just before you serve, sprinkle the pizzas with chopped basil.

Note: If you do not have an olive spread or tapas on hand, you can spread tomato sauce on the crusts and scatter sliced black olives on the top.

10 Ideas For Grill'n Fruits and Veggies on the Weber Genesis E-320 Gas Grill

For many folks grilling is about meat, more like MEEEEAT, and the rest of the meal or menu is prepared in your indoor kitchen. The great thing about the Weber Genesis E-320 Propane Gas Grill is that the 12,000 BTU side burner opens up several more options for controlling your cooking and dining experience right on your patio. However, having made that observation, we are always surprised by how many "sides" and even "desserts" can be prepared right on the grilling grate of the E-320.

First things first, the grill grate needs to be thoroughly cleaned and the grate should be well oiled. On top of that, make sure that any vegetables or fruits have been bushed with olive oil, sprayed with cooking oil or hand rubbed with butter. Don't use your expensive EVOO for this but you can if you wish. Flavored olive oils infused with your favorite seasoning, herbs and spices are wonderful for grilling. Dropped on a medium to med-high temperature grate, several veggies and fruits get wonderful textures and flavors that are a delightful change from raw, steamed, griddled and pan-fried. If you enjoy the flavor of a slightly charred food item, grilling this way is a perfect way to capture that flavor on fruits and vegetables.

Keep in mind that this is not a "close the lid and check back later" cooking technique. When grilling fruits and vegetables it is best to keep a sharp eye on the cooking process. Both veggies and fruits will get soft and squishy or even burnt if left over the flame for too long. When the fruits grill the heat caramelizes the natural sugar and this along with the smokiness from the grill, provides that wonderfully unique grilled flavor.

Here's how a few vegetable and fruit favorites can be done on the Weber Genesis E-320 Gas Grill.

#1 Asparagus is perfect for this when tossed with some lime, garlic butter and spread out on the grate. Grilling gives it a really different flavor from streaming or even doing it on a George Forman. Great with flavored oils as well.

#2 Fried Green Tomatoes need to be put in a grilling basket or on foil with holes but they have a lot less fat than fried and the char flavor is great.

#3 Eggplant is a favorite whether sliced thin and crisped up or cut thick and done like a veggie steak. This is also true for a sweet onion like the Vidalia. Just brush with EVOO and then drizzle a little Balsamic vinegar on top before turning over.

#4 Leeks and baby bok choy are done the same way. Sliced length-wise and oiled with balsamic, Worcestershire, or soy sauce and placed sliced side down, these are flavor filled.

#5 Corn on the Cob off the grill is a totally different flavor. Pull back the husk to use like a handle, oil up the corn, and put on the grill rotating often.

#6 Grilled Romaine Lettuce or Endive is sliced lengthwise and sprayed with olive or canola oil and placed flat side down. For a Caesar salad with popping flavor, use the chopped grilled Romaine.

#7 Pineapples are a grill favorite. Use fresh cut rings spritzed with cooking oil and go for the grill marks!

#8 Pears and apples are super on the grill, especially when sprinkled with a spice like cinnamon. Brushing them with a little lime juice will keep them from getting brown before you are ready to put them on the grill.

#9 Apricots, peaches, and other soft tree fruits can also be grilled with an eagle eye on the process. Simply remove their pit and grill the halves. Just fantastic with pork.

#10 Bananas can even be grilled. Yes, that's a Banana on the grill. Use a firm not very ripe fruit that has been hand rubbed with butter. Lightly grill until golden with some grill marks and remove. Slice the banana lengthwise and place the halves flat side down on enough foil to make a packet. Then chop up your favorite dark chocolate candy bar (Snickers and Mounds, YUM) and sprinkle chunks over the banana. Then pull up the foil and seal the packet. Return to the grill two to three minutes until the chocolate is melty.

Chevrolet Camaro - One of the Most Popular Cars for Modification in the Automotive History

The Chevrolet Camaro was a compact car introduced in North America by the Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors at the start of the 1967 model year as competition for the Ford Mustang.

Although it was technically a compact (by the standards of the time), the Camaro, like the entire class of Mustang competitiors, was soon known as a pony car.

Though the car's name was contrived with no meaning, General Motors researchers found the word in a French dictionary as a slang term for "friend" or "companion." Ford Motor Company researchers discovered other definitions, including "a shrimp-like creature" and an arcane term for "loose bowels"! In some automotive periodicals before official release, it was code-named "Panther".

Four distinct generations of the car were produced.

Generation 1

1967

Sharing mechanicals with the upcoming 1968 Chevrolet Nova, the Camaro featured unibody structure. Chevrolet offered the car in only two body styles, a coupe and convertible. Almost 80 factory and 40 dealer options including three main packages were avaible.

* RS Package included many cosmetic changes such as RS badging, hidden headlights, blacked out grill, revised taillights and interior trims.

* SS Package included modified 5.7 L (350 in³) V8 engine (first 350 in³ engine ever offered by Chevrolet), also L35 396 in³ "big block" was avaible. SS featured non-functional air inlets on the hood, special striping and blacked out grill. It was possible to order both - RS and SS packages to receive RS/SS Camaro. In 1967 Camaro RS/SS Convertible Camaro with 396 in³ engine paced the Indianapolis 500 race.

* Z28 option code was introduced in 1966. This option package wasn't mentioned in any sales literature so was unknown by most of the buyers. The only way to order Z28 package was to order base Camaro with Z28 option, front disc brakes, power steering and Muncie 4-speed transmission.

Z28 package featured unique 302 in³ "small block" engine, designed specifically to compete in the Club of America Trans Am racing series (which required engines smaller than 305 in³ and public availablity of the car).

Advertised power of this engine was listed at 290 hp (216 kW) while actual dyno readings rated it at 360 to 400 hp (269 to 298 kW). Z28 also came with upgraded suspension and racing stripes on the hood. It was possible to combine Z28 package with RS package. Only 602 Z28's were sold.

Generation 2

The larger second-generation Camaro featured an all-new sleek body and improved suspension. The 1970-1/2 Camaro debuted as a 2+2 coupe; no convertible was offered and would not appear again until well into the third generation.

Most of the engine and drivetrain components were carried over from 1969 with the exception of the 230 in³ (3.8 L) six cylinder -- the base engine was now the 250 in³ (4.1 L) six rated at 155 hp (116 kW).

The top performing motor was a L-78 396 in³ (6.5 L) V8 rated at 375 hp (280 kW). (Starting in 1970, the 396 in³ big block V8's actually displaced 402 in³ (6.6 L), yet Chevrolet chose to retain the 396 badging.) Two 454 in³ (7.4 L) engines - the LS-6 and LS-7 - were listed on early specification sheets but never made it into production.

Besides the base model, buyers could select the "Rally Sport" option with a distinctive front nose and bumper, a "Super Sport" package, and the "Z-28 Special Performance Package" featuring a new high-performance 360 hp (268 kW) 350 in³ (5.7 L) cid V8.
1972

The 1972 Camaro suffered two major setbacks. A UAW strike at a GM assembly plant in Ohio disrupted production for 174 days, and 1100 Camaros had to be scrapped because they did not meet 1973 Federal bumper safety standards.

Some at GM seriously considered dropping the Camaro and Firebird altogether, while others were convinced the models remained marketable. The latter group eventually convinced those in favor of dropping the F Cars to reconsider, and Chevrolet would go on to produce 68,656 Camaros in 1972, the lowest production numbers for any model year.

Generation 3

1982

The 1982 model introduced the first Camaros with factory fuel injection, four-speed automatic transmissions (three-speed on the earlier models), five-speed manual transmissions (four-speed manual transmissions in 1982, and some 83-84 models), 15 or 16-inch rims, hatchback body style, and even a four-cylinder engine for a brief period (due to concerns over fuel economy).

The Camaro Z28 was Motor Trend magazine's Car of the Year for 1982.

1985

In 1985 Chevrolet introduced a new Camaro model - the famous IROC-Z, called after popular racing series. IROC-Z Camaro featured upgraded suspension, special decal package and Tuned Port Injection system taken from the Chevrolet_Corvette Third generation Camaros also had a suspension system that was more capable in corners than the previous generation.

The Camaro IROC-Z was on Car and Driver magazine's Ten Best list for 1985.

Engines

* 1978-1981 5.7 L (350 in³) Small-Block V8

* 1982-1985 2.5 L (151 in³) Iron Duke L4

* 1982-1984 2.8 L (173 in³) LC1 V6

* 1985-1989 2.8 L (173 in³) LB8 V6

* 1990-1992 3.1 L (191 in³) 60 Gen II V6

* 1982-1992 5.0 L (305 in³) Small-Block V8

* 1985-1992 5.7 L (350 in³) Small-Block V8

Generation 4

1993

1993 began the fourth and last generation of Camaros, lasting through the 2002 model year. Production of the fourth and final generation was moved from GM's Van Nuys, California assembly plant to one in Ste. Therese, Quebec in 1993.

Though the car would no longer be produced in the US, the new design which incorporated lightweight plastic body panels over a steel space frame, and a better suspension, further improved upon the Camaro line.

From 1993 to 1997 the Camaro was available with the LT-1 engine, the same Generation II small block V8 used in the Corvette, although in slightly de-tuned form.

In 1996, the long-discontinued "SS" option was resurrected and in 1998, the all-new LS-1 engine Generation III small block was offered on the SS and Z28 Camaros, marking the end of the Generation I small block V8 that had its roots in Chevrolet's 265 in³ engine of 1955. Unfortunately, sales were below expectations, and production of the Camaro ceased in 2002.
1998

1998 saw a new head light design for the Camaro. The new design removed the previous recessed-light design present in the 1982-1997 Camaros. The faux air intakes on the hood were also eliminated. In addition the LT1 engine was removed and instead an LS1 in its place.
Engines

* 1993-1995 3.4 L (208 in³) 60 Gen III V6

* 1995-2002 3.8 L (231 in³) 3800 Series II V6

* 1993-1997 5.7 L (350 in³) LT1 V8

* 1998-2002 5.7 L (350 in³) LS1 V8

2002

2002 marked the last year of the Chevrolet Camaro and was also the 35th anniversary for the Camaro. This milestone was celebrated with a special anniversary car modified from the factory by SLP. The anniversary package was only available on the SS (Super Sport).

Engine modifications were available in addition to the 325 hp (242 kW) engine which all Super Sports produce. Silver racing stripes down the hood and trunk lid made the car more noticeable than ever--especially against the Bright Rally Red paint (the only color available with the anniversary package).

The car also had the slogan attached to it "Leave a Lasting ImpreSSion" and had the logo embroidered in the seats. The car was only available as a convertible or with T-Tops. 3,000 Camaros with the anniversary package were produced for the United States and 152 for Canada.

Though production Camaros were never as fast as the flagship Corvette, the car cost less than half as much and was easily modified. If its frequent inclusion in automotive enthusiast magazines is any indication, the Chevy Camaro is one of the most popular cars for modification in the automotive history.

Throughout its history, the Camaro shared its internal body and major components with a sister car - the Pontiac Firebird.

Butternut Squash Pie Recipe

If you love pumpkin pie, you should consider making a pie made from butternut squash. It makes a delectable pumpkin type pie. My husband's grandmother first introduced me to butternut squash pies many years ago. I've been growing the fruits in my garden ever since. They are plentiful and grow well with barely any attention at all. If kept in a cool place, the fruits will last for months after harvesting. If you find that you like this recipe as much as I do, you should consider growing some for your own use.

Butternut Squash Pie Recipe Makes 1 pie

9 inch deep dish pie crust (single crust)
3/4 cup white or brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ginger
1/8 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted
2 cups milk (or 1 can evaporated milk and enough water to equal 2 cups)
2 cups cooked mashed butternut squash
3 eggs beaten

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Mix sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, cloves and salt together in a large bowl. Mix until spices are mixed thoroughly with sugar.

Stir in the milk, squash, beaten eggs, and melted butter or margarine. Mix well until smooth.

Pour the pie filling into an unbaked deep dish pie shell.

Bake in preheated oven 40 to 45 minutes. Pie is done when shell is lightly browned and center springs back when lightly touched with finger. You can also insert a knife in the center to see if it comes out clean.

Tip: If you have too much filling to fit in the pie shell, you can bake it as custard in a buttered pie pan or casserole dish. It won't take nearly as long to bake as the pie, so check it frequently.
